About Planet Sin

PLANET SIN is a web-based hub inviting/encouraging self-expression, discussion, and confession on the subject of sin. Visitors to the site are invited to submit their everyday transgressions and contribute to creating a global, multi-dimensional and interactive picture of sin; one that will continuously grown and reflect our ever-changing fallible human society.

THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS originated within the Roman Catholic faith as a set of principles guiding its followers on what they must refrain from doing. Coincidentally, these sins embody the elements intrinsic to human nature, making it almost impossible for us not to explore them. In time, they have become central in shaping the moral code of Western societies. Curiously, these sins are equally manifested, in other cultures and societies around the world, one appropriated by groups and inpiduals, each instilling in them difference levels of importance as time passes.

HOW EXACTLY DO THESE SINS TAKE SHAPE TODAY? Well, that’s up to the Planet Sin community to define. Users can either confess their own sins or report the sins of others. These are categorized upon entry with the ability to define new categories of sin. Submissions are geographically mapped for all to see, explore, comment and discuss. The Planet Sin community can then make their judgments, casting shame or granting forgiveness.

WE WANT TO explore how the relevance of these sins in our current times be they big or small, serious or playful. We want Planet Sin to be a destination of choice for people to candidly share their transgression and misdemeanours. Judgment, comments and guidance will hopefully follow from fellow visitors rather than from strict religious dogma laid down many centuries ago. Some say that only once we have acknowledged the shadows within our selves we can truly take control of our vices and be in a position to guide others through the darkness.
